Dear Students and Colleagues,

Off-campus On-line Learning and Assessment

Due to Campus Disruptions

 1. As the semester is drawing to a close in two weeks and in view of safety concerns on campus and potential disruptions to campus services due to the ongoing social unrest, the University has worked out the following arrangements to ensure the continuity of teaching and learning as well as the integrity of the end-of-semester assessment.

Teaching and Learning for the Last Two Weeks of Semester

 2. With effect from 14 November 2019 (Thursday), all on-campus face-to-face sessions will be suspended.  It will be switched to on-line mode, or postponed to a later date such as the beginning of the next semester if on-line delivery is not possible, or a format that the teacher will work out with their students. This applies to the last two remaining teaching weeks of this semester only. Your teachers and supervisors will inform you of the detailed arrangements.

 3. ITO would make arrangements to ensure on-line access for students who choose to return to the Mainland and elsewhere outside Hong Kong for the remainder of the semester.

End of Semester Assessment

 4. Likewise and for the same reasons, all the remaining classroom assessment and examinations scheduled for December will be switched to on-line mode, or postponed to a later date such as the beginning of the next semester, or take a format that the teacher will work out with their students.  Again, your teachers and supervisors will let you know of the detailed arrangements.

 5. Students’ safety is our number one concern while teaching and learning is our primary mission. The above arrangements ensure that we deliver the above in a manner that minimises the interruptions to students’ learning. Should you have any enquiries, please contact your teachers or supervisors, and we would work closely with them to ensure the smooth running of the above arrangements.
